LifeStreams is a collaborative learning program within The Garth Homer Society that works with clients and caregivers to create innovative learning opportunities for adults with diverse abilities. Our number one tenet is that learning doesn’t stop after high school, and LifeStreams supports individuals to continue their journey of self-discovery, connection, and growth so that they can thrive in adulthood.
LifeStreams Online was created during the 2020 pandemic to help unite the community during isolation. Its goal is to bring learning and connection right into your home, becoming a longstanding resource and hub of connection and learning long into the future.
The website was created with the support of our client consult team, a diverse group of Garth Homer clients who graciously agreed to help us design a website that works for all people. The consult team was involved in drafting ideas and looking in on the creation of the website as it came together. They guided development, suggested new features and content, and kept us on track! Each client consultant brought forth fabulous ideas on accessibility, fun and educational learning content, and important considerations that have permeated the website’s content and design.
LifeStreams is designed with accessibility at the forefront: it is our goal to make it truly user-friendly and easy to navigate for individuals of all abilities!
