The Garth Homer Society and the LifeStreams program are located on the traditional Coast Salish territory of the Lekwungen people (today’s Esquimalt and Songhees Nations) on Vancouver Island. We live, work, and play in this beautiful region, and are incredibly grateful to do so.
It’s important to recognize and appreciate the wealth of natural beauty that we are able to enjoy. To help honor the indigenous peoples whose land we live on, it’s also important that we learn more about their histories and support indigenous traditions, culture, and work. Please take some time to learn more about the history of where you live!
You can explore the indigenous origins and ownership of the regions you live in on this interactive map.
