A quick Accessibility Tip for Painting and Drawing!!!
For anyone that finds it hard to hold a paint brush, pens or pencils, there are still ways to be able to do your art!! Try these cool DIY tricks to help make holding your art tools easier. (you might need a friend, parent or staff to help you get set up)
- wrap a cloth or sock around your tool and use an elastic to hold it in place, creating a thicker area to hold
- make holes in the top and bottom of a tennis ball and stick your tool through the ball, creating a much larger grip area
Crafts
Have you ever tried your hand at tie-dying?! This is a super fun craft that’s making a huge comeback, and we’re thrilled because tie-dye clothes are beautiful! It’s pretty easy, but make sure you follow instructions, put down some plastic and wear old clothes, because it can get really messy!
There are TONS of websites that have great ideas for crafts. Some ideas you might need to buy supplies for but there are also lots of crafts you can make from old things you have around the house, recyclables and nature! Pixilart is a program for making “pixel art,” a new kind of drawing which uses computer pixels to create a unique look.
